I have no idea ... maybe some sort of Garden or Orb Spider. Found in a good sized web in the window of a back deck that has lots of flowers around.

I haven’t seen this species in-person yet. My family lives in the Putnam area of Connecticut, so maybe there’s a chance when I visit them. If there is a light on indoors at night near the deck it attracts nocturnal insects. She put her big web between the alluring light and the bugs. They are called Furrow Orbweavers because they tend to spend daylight hours in a crevice or furrow. Happy Summer Solstice!
