Comments & ID Thoughts

I'm pretty sure that it's an orb weaver. What type, I'm unsure of. It is on a large rose that is about the size of a large human palm. It did have a web spun, but was damaged by water spray. I've seen it for several days now. It hides up inside one of the roses.

Great photos! I like your roses too. My plants are doing great this year, it’s hot and dry instead of cold and flooding for a change. It’s sweet that your spider sleeps in roses. 🙂 During the sunny hours they usually find or build a retreat. She’ll probably make her egg sac on the rose bush or wrapped in curled leaves in Autumn. I don’t have a yard Orbweaver yet this year, maybe because toads are guarding the plants.
