Is this guy capable of biting. I have quite a few of that likes to play with me the game who owns the pool.
If they rear back with front legs raised and fangs bared, not a good time to poke a finger at their face. Otherwise, you can coax them onto hands.

A wolf spider, harmless but can be provoked to bite
Magnaclub, I like your Spider Pool Game. 🙂 I have good memories of playing it when visited relatives in South Carolina. The Wolf Spiders floated near the skimmers because that’s where insects that drown on the surface of the pool go. A plentiful buffet for a big spider. My Father – in- law ( a native southerner) was raised to be afraid of all bugs and he killed the spiders. Grrrrrr. So, while I was there, I made a point of removing them from thr pool before he did and made sure he saw me doing it bare-handed. He isn’t… Read more »
