Comments & ID Thoughts

Unfortunately I found these two spiders drowned in my pool. Both seemed mature, one male one female. I couldn't get a photo of the male due to how easily it got damaged when I tried to fish them out with the net from the bottom of the pool. Don't know if they tried to pray on one another or mating however it id unfortunate that I've found them in this state. I tried to identify the species by comparing it to local spiders here in Slovakia. From I couldn't find anything with these patterns, but that could be due to water damage. from the shape of the head and body my guesses were some radiated wolf spider or sort of wolf spider based on how the eyes are distributed. I'm not sure if they mated successfully, but their nest could be located under that deck's floor boards which is basically as close to the ground as possible.

Certainly a wolf spider, your photo looks to be a male.

You can submit another post with a photo of the other spider.
