Body (without legs) was 2.1cm long
This looks like a harmless false wolf spider Zoropsis spinimana. They are fairly docile and a bite from them is unlikely and not dangerous to humans…They are an outdoor species in their natural range around the Mediterranean but have been doing a good job of spreading worldwide….establishing themselves in the UK and even California. This is because they like their creature comforts and move indoors when the weather gets cold.
