Although it is September, seems the first I've noticed around here. Is this a grey jumping spider? NE PA

You were close, thank you for trying. The location is what we use to identify gray VS tan. I know the tan jumpers are gray. 😉 The Tan Jumpers are East Coast, the Gray are West Coast. Your photo came out well. I can never get my phone camera ready before one jumps away from me.
Ha! As I was kneeling in for this shot, all I kept thinking is, this guy is going to jump on my lens
& I’m going to jump back right off the porch!
