I agree with inaturalist. Metellina segmentata is a European species that is very common where I come from. The eyes , shape of the abdomen and the way it is sitting is very typical of the genus. Metellina often has a tuning fork like mark on its carapace (head) like yours has. M. segmentata has been introduced into British Columbia and is thriving there. Apparently native Metellina can look very similar …so I cant be 100% sure on the species…but I would be happy that it is in the genus Metellina
