She’s an elderly Banded Garden Spider. She’s already made her egg sac and has probably gone to the ground from dehydration and weakness. When we see photos of old Orbweavers on the ground this time of year there is often a puddle or other moisture on the ground that may have attracted the spider to seek it to drink. Just, curious, do you know what the pink stones in your photo are?
