This attached was located in the bedding around a tree in New Bern, NC. It is approximately 3” in overall length and the body is app. 2”. The picture was taken this morning around 10:30. Weather is warm (80 degrees) and sunshiny. I am guessing it is a rabid wolf spider, based on other pictures on your website.
