Based on initial comparisons to known spiders in the area, I think it's a fisher spider of some kind. no guesses on sex or species sadly.

I understand why it looks like a fishing spider, the abdomen markings are similar. Your photo is of higher resolution than many of our comparison photos. I became accustomed to vague photos, then cell phone cameras got much better. Now the details can be distracting, I didn’t know all that stuff was there. 😉 I’ve been trying to get a photo of a Tan Jumping Spider, like yours, but they always jump while I fumble with my phone. I don’t know its sex either.
ah, that explains why I was having issues determining species! thanks for your insight 🙂 cute little guy, and was very polite while I took several pictures. jumping spiders seem to like the attention of a photoshoot in my experience (though I’ve spooked my fair share too)
