It might have been the Crab Spider, Missumessus oblongus https://bugguide.net/node/view/312516 It’s one of the Flower Crab Spiders that usually hunt insects that are drawn to flowers. Some of them can change their colors to match their surroundings. It’s really cool, the images and colors that they see translate into pigment shifts under thier chitin to match the colors and patterns. Misumenoides formosipes is my favorite, it can be many colors and can do a pretty good job at micking fabric patterns.
