Comments & ID Thoughts

I think it is a Steatoda triangulosa (Triangulate Cobweb Spider)? I was sitting in my home office using my iPad in the evening. The spider descended from the ceiling lamp fixture of which I was sitting directly under and stopped just above my iPAD. This has been a regular occurrence the last few weeks. However, it has been much smaller spiders, possibly spiderlings. I think they are attracted to the iPAD screen light or just curious and checking me out. I lightly blow on them and they scurry away. This time mama or papa spider came to check me out. LOL.

Yes, Steatoda triangulosa. I think sub adult. Spotting several juveniles, likely they hatched nearby, but they will disperse and numbers will drop. Usually the mamas stay in their web for their life unless driven out.
