I don't know what species this is. Due to the reddish marking, maybe a widow? This is only the underside of the spider. I wasn't able to take a photo of the topside.

Yes it is one of the widow spiders..from the legs ..I think it is a brown widow…Latrodectus geometricus

But it could also be a juvenile western black widow.
Oooh. I think it is that one. I did take a photo of the second one I have seen, which is of the topside of them. There is a third one which is a tad darker than this one. I haven’t taken a photo of that one though.
I’m fairly sure this is a Brown Widow. They have a wide red-orange hourglass on the underside. The legs are difficult because Black Widows aren’t black-legged through their entire lives, but Brown Widows always have brownish legs. The topside of Brown Widows isn’t shown well in the attached photos. I didn’t select them. 🙂 They have a cool geometric abstract pattern. The egg sacs are different, Brown Widow egg sacs are spiky, Black Widows have rounded ones.
