Found in an area near the suspected brown widow one I had seen in a previous post. Not sure what this one is. It was nearly the size of my hand, so less than 5 or 6 inches approximately.

Giant cellar spider. Known to kill/eat widows.

Thank you cursag3. This site is run by volunteers. Your help is appreciated. This does look like a Pholcus species, but Artema atlanta is a larger spider than the Pholcus species are. We used the description of the spider and geographic location to choose the identification. We use Bugguide.com for North American species. inaturalist and the World Spider Catalog for the entire World.
