Not certain from this angle but I believe this is a spotted orb weaver, Neoscona genus.
Probably Neoscona crucifera.
Looks like it is based on Google Pictures. Sorry I couldn’t get better pics, I was at work and trying not to screw around too much. I almost walked face-first into it too.
Leave her alone if you can, but I have taken them out of their web to try for a better photo. No, they won’t bite, and nothing as bad as a bee sting if they do.
