I’ve tried to search google with no luck. The spider is very, very small. So much so that the first one I saw that was just walking across my son’s play work bench I thought it might be a tick. But at the same time another one was hanging on a single thread heading up toward the work bench. I didn’t see a web, just those single threads as they moved. Saw about 5 different ones, all located on my son’s toy construction bench.

They’re probably siblings from a hatching egg sac. This species was accidentally introduced to California from Europe. It might eventually be determined to be invasive if it is shown to have a negative impact on Western Black Widows. False Widows can sometimes kill Black Widows and Brown Widows. Brown Widows aren’t native. False Widows aren’t medically significant to people or pets. I’ve had newly hatched egg sacs of Steatoda triangulosa, I know what you mean about the size.
