He’s a Black Lace Weaver. I think they’re a cute species, very mellow. Your’s has his legs partially up in the defensive posture. They’re brownish black. Thank you for mentioning the photo adjustment. I often do it if I need to enhance the markings too. Thanks for giving the ID a guess. Trying to ID a spider I photographed was the beginning of how I became a volunteer for this website. The Parsons Spiders have pinkish light grey markings. They move very rapidly.
