Three grouped photos of the same spider, taken on May 22 and 23rd, 2025. Based on info on this site, it is a spiny-backed orb-weaver (Gasteracantha cancriformis) and a female based on the protruding spikes. There are several in various webs in the lanai area (between a potted rubber tree and a concrete column) of our home in Florida; this is the only one close enough to obtain a photo.

I’ve identified this spider as spiny-backed orb-weaver (Gasteracantha cancriformis) based on the info on this site, but I do not see a method of adding the identification to the top of the photo.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else get around the lack of ability to link photos of the same spider in this way. 🙂 You can’t add the ID because that’s my role.
