https://bugguide.net/node/view/1999/data You handled finding a Black Widow well as a person who is fighting arachnophobia! The good news is that Black Widows want to avoid us, they can’t see well. They move toward shadows or black objects to attempt to hide. They are not aggressive. Bites occur when a person somehow presses skin against one. The spiders bite as a warning to protect themselves from being injured. She is gravid with nearly mature ( haploid) unfertilized eggs.
