Never seen this in my yard, was thinking it was some kind of wolf spider as I have a lot around here, but not this color with the orange front area. It is very agressive. I was two feet it way and it was rearing and striking the leaves with its front two legs to drive me off.

I think it may be a carolina wolf spider

Even though they are called the carolina wolf spider they are found throughout the US…have a look at the map in this link
