My husband found one this evening and I showed him how the light from the flashlight on the abdomen causes a glowing refraction of light. “Venusta” refers to the goddess Venus who is associated with holding a mirror. The effect of this species looking like an ( old ) mirror, “dipped in silver” is where “venusta” came from, I think by Linnaeus himself.
