Could this be a species of Larinioides - furrow orbweaver, male?
On side of building, approximately 20 metres from a creek.
Building was also covered by mayflies.
Warm sunny day, about 8:30 a.m.

It’s a Long-jawed Orbweaver in family Tetragnathidae, probably in genus Tetragnatha. https://bugguide.net/node/view/1997 We don’t usually go to species level with them because it often requires a microscope and the specimen. That’s disappointing to me because I find many of tbem. From your screen name, you’ll probably see more of these, they eat what Odonata eat. They aren’t usually found on buildings ( unless there is a mayfly buffet, I guess.) They make webs parallel to water to catch emerging insects.
