Comments & ID Thoughts
This one built their first web the night before and has stuck around since. During the day, they move above their web and wait for prey, and when night falls, they start reconstructing their web. I live in central Arkansas and lately have had several spiders sharing my deck to build their webs on at night. I believe this one is an araneus bicentenarius (known as a giant lichen orbweaver), or at least an araneus. I used the app Picture Insect to find this information. My assumption is that it's female because it's a little bigger than a quarter and is maintaining a web.
