You’ll have to wait for someone with more knowledge to give you a positive ID, but in my (amateur) opinion, and according to some research I just did about spiders in New York, I don’t think it’s venomous. Your main venomous spiders there are black widows, brown widows, and brown recluses, and this doesn’t look anything like those as far as I can tell. You also have the yellow sac spider but I can’t find anything about red markings on those.

I’m very interested to know what it is, though! It’s very pretty.

Thank you for answering the question! I try to respond to worried questions first, with anything I know. There actually are Black Widows in New York, New Jersey, and some other states in the area. They aren’t common here. You correctly listed the 3 types of US spiders that have venom that can be medically significant. The Northeast is mostly free of them. That’s our upside for living in a cold region.
I don’t know this spider from memory, it my be an Orbweaver or Therrid. It is very cool and I’ll work on it. 🙂

https://www.whatsthatbug.com/candystripe-spider-all/ I think it’s a Candystripe spider, Enoplognatha ovata. The article that I linked has thorough info. Many of the photos we receive of them are ones that people found on fruit or vegetables.
