Comments & ID Thoughts
This is our resident staircase spider, Stan/Fernando. He has been hanging out on the walls by the stairs for over a week (10 days+). We are quite fond of him. Based on a quick browse of spiders found in BC, I believe this is a Platycryptus californicus spider. Unsure if male or femaleāI'm new to Spider ID. / Hello from TangledWeb! I can still do some moderator stuff while we wait for the comments to get fixed. The site is in the middle of a changeover. Your spider is an active hunter, not one that uses a web. Bugs will fly to a high point indoors, your spider picked a great place to hunt.
