Comments & ID Thoughts

I'm praying it's not a brown recluse because my cat was messing with it and possibly got bit on the cheek.
/ Hi, our comments section isn't working, but I can write in your panel. It is not a Brown Recluse. Please don't worry too much about Recluses, they aren't likely to be in your area. Some pets are allergic to bites and stings, in general, but I think your cat should be okay. We aren't supposed to give medical advice. We understand your concern and answer as individuals with what we know. My Lab mix likes to catch bees in her mouth. She seems to get a kick out of getting her mouth stung repeatedly and keeps the bees alive in her mouth as long as she can for her favorite spicy treat. She does happy little jumps with each sting. I feel bad about the trauma to the bees. :)

It would be very unlikely to be a brown recluse in your location, but I’d watch the kitty for any signs of distress, of course (and in the case of any bug bite or sting. Someone more knowledgeable will come along here and offer more info on the spider.
