Not the clearest picture but the best I could do. The body is maybe 2 inches. It builds a web across my walkway between some bushes and a pergola. The spider is always in the center of the web about 5 feet off the ground. Every day I have to knock down the webs and by morning they're back. I never harm him but would love for him to relocate into the bushes.

Hi, you can relocate her if her webs are in your path. A bowl and paper should work to catch her. She would like to be somewhere where she could make a new web at face level. 🙂 I’m five feet tall and I can walk under the webs, my husband, however, did not enjoy the repeat facefuls of orb web on South Carolina trails in your area. Although these are capable of biting, it is a very rare event. Quite easy to catch by hand, (like a preying mantis) docile, one of very few spiders they let children handle at bug fairs.
