The comments are working! I think this is a juvenile and/ or male Steatoda Borealis. Note the gold raised band at the dorsal anterior of the abdomen. High school Anatomy class was useful for vocabulary. 🙂 I have this species in my area too. They have a thin gold or silver line down their backs and one on each side of the abdomen. Like they have a big letter “E” on them with the long line of the E worn like a belt.
Thanks for the detailed info! Yes, it seemed like a very normal spider in my area. My guess was Steatoda “something”, lol! I had never seen the little band on the abdomen but then again I’ve never really paid that much attention to these “common” spiders until recently.
