I think it is actually a false wolf spider. Zoropsis spinimana. They are a harmless southern European species that have started to hugely expand their range. They are well established in California now. It would be interesting if I was right as this would be a first sighting for Ontario
I know but this species seems not to be shy around people. They seem to have no problem hitching a lift with us. And it seems to be a very good match https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/188066477

I was going to say Zoropsis family would be out of range. Can’t ruel out a hitchhiker though.
