Maybe orb weaver of some kind?
Makes a large circular web every night, but by morning it’s gone. Always in same place each night. Very large spider in the center.

Each year a few of these spiders (I think they’re the same kind) are near my driveway and walkway into my apartment. Same time of year starts in August and ends late September ish. Same large webs at night typically gone in morning.
Hi Sarah 🙂 Yes this is an Orbweaver. The “orb” part of the name comes from the circular web. When I first heard the term “Orbweaver” I thought it meant that the spider made spherical webs – and that sounded so cool and I couldn’t wait to see one! The interesting reason that the web disappears is that the spider eats it. Recycling at it’s best! I watched other species of Orbweavers do it.
