Orbweaver type? Found in woodlands between streams. Body was 7/8" long. I don't know enough about spider anatomy to know its sex.

Nice photo! I like getting photos like this that show a spider in the setting where its markings are great camouflage. @Spider lore Welcome! It’s probably a mature female. She looks like she already has put her eggs in a silk sac. Her abdomen is rumpled and her posterior is drooping ( so is mine). They deflate after the eggs are out of them. She might be guarding the eggs. Do you know what kind of tree that is? It looks like a Paper Wasp nest in color and texture. Just curious. I’m into trees too.
