Comments & ID Thoughts
Scared the daylights out of me man, this american nursery web spider was hiding right in the crevice between the trunk door and tail light. I was admittedly horrible at spider identification back then, and confused it with a recluse... thanked God for Google image searches.

I enjoy the spider encounter stories. The-riveter…..these spiders can jump staight up. – it could have been scarier! My dad is still traumatized by finding a Dark Fishing Spider an inch from his face when he was working on a car’s wheel well.
I have never seen one jump, but they can bolt several inches in an unpredictable direction. So fast, you lose eye contact.
A dark fishing spider like a huntsman can startle the daylights out of you when you discover them inches from your face (less than a legspan)
