Your guess is very close. Future genetic research might find that Shamrock Orbweavers are Marbled Orbweavers are variants of the same speciies. Taxonomy of all living things is in-flux with advances in rapid genetic sequencing. An interesting example is a hybrid of a Green Jay bird and a Blue Jay was found. They aren’t even close to being taxonomically closely related.
The visual trait that I used for the ID was the leg band markings color pattern. Marbled Orbweavers are red near the body. Shamrock Orbweavers alternate a light color and a dark color.
Ah yes, another Pumkin spider.
Happy Halloween! I just found a page on the site that I haven’t seen before. Even though most of the site has been deleted, there are still 78,800 comments! 12,200 are mine. Wow!
