Outside my front door. Keeps building webs I run into. I'm not a big spider guy, just curious what this huge spider is called.

European garden spider. Either a spotted orb weaver, Neoscona crucifera or Araneus diadematus. Hunch is Neoscona.

Yes! @Comeintomyparlour That was going to be my screen name here, but it wouldn’t work well in shortened nickname form. 😉 It’s okay to move Orbweavers out of your way if they keep giving you a faceful of web. A kind way to do it is the paper and bowl method and gently placing the spider elsewhere. Another way is to use a stick or broomhandle and rotate it in the web. It should wrap around they stick like cotton candy with a spider on top. They like 90 degree angles for web support. They eat their webs frequently (… Read more »
