Comments & ID Thoughts
Looking for identification of this little spider. I suspect it is Frontinella pyramitela, but looking for some expert identification.
Photographed in Eastern Yucatan not far from the coast.
Choosing the closest US state as Mexico is not an option.

Our Administrator decided that our site needed to go back to only identifying US and Canada spiders for efficiency and data storage. I asked him to make it more obvious. 🙂 I don’t think Frontinella are orb web weavers. Strangely enough, I was just looking at them while working on my own photos. My first thought for your spider was genus Leucauge. Maybe, L. festiva.
Thank you for your assistance! Leucauge sp. seems much more reasonable.
You’re welcome! They’re a very pretty genus of spiders with jewel colors. I’ll delete this later because we come up near the top of internet searches and I don’t want to mess up “spiders in Florida” results. Florida has several species in the genus, but not this one. 🙂
