I've been looking for years, finally reaching out sources on the internet. The plank this spider rests on are 5 inch wide. This spider was about the size of my hand.

This is a female giant house spider, Eratigena duellica. In spite of their size and speed, they are very harmless. Some friends keep them as pets.
