About 2.5 inches across, was sitting in the middle of a chair in our chapel just watching. Had a small thorax, long abdomen. Was very responsive to motion. Disappeared as soon as observation was broken.

A brown recluse spider, can’t tell the gender from this.
The violin pattern on its head suggests a brown recluse, dangerous to humans and can cause severe effects when bitten. Typically keep to themselves but don’t irritate it. A closer photo of the spider would solidify if its a brown recluse or not.
