The spider is about quarter size, a little bigger than a typical wolf spider, I really don't know what it is.It was hanging out in grass and leaf litter in a road ditch with some overhead trees.

i’m sure you’re probably right, but doesn’t he have eight spots? There’s definitely eight spots there. probably jut dumb taxonomist not wearing glasses but still, there’s totally eight spots on there.

If you could see her undeside (ventral) you would see 6 spots. The light banding of her perimiter doesn’t show well here.
