Comments & ID Thoughts
I have ever assumed this was a Hogna Carolinensis (Carolina Wolf Spider), but after discovering that a photo of a similarly giant spider I took a few years ago was not the H.c.I thought it was, but rather, a Dark Fishing Spider, I thought should post this year to verify.
My son found this girl in a silk-lined hole beside our tent in the campground at Devil's Tower. We teased her out with a blade of grass, into my hand, where we got this photo.
