This is a male False Widow. Probably Steatoda hespera. https://www.bugguide.net/node/view/50474/bgimage The link is to more info on Bugguide.net I can’t see enough detail to ID beyond the genus taxon. S. Hespera is a common species in B. C. My back-up choices for False Widows are Steatoda bipunctata and Steatoda grossa. They’re all great indoor spiders.
