Comments & ID Thoughts
I think it’s some sort of jumping spider. It was hanging from a tree almost about my height (6ft)

this is way too blurry to identify properly. for future reference, instead of standing far away and zooming in to the spider, move your phone close to the spider. the spiders usually do not mind, and if they do mind, they will be very clear about it. thank you!
With most critters I start taking photos from where I am, using flash, and keep taking shots as I slowly approach. That helps to avoid scaring some animals.
M1kconsumer, look up Argiope Argentata to see if that’s what you saw. At 6 feet up it is probably an orbweaver spider. My husband was not pleased to discover that orbweaavers in Southern States tend to make webs at the height of a man’s face. He had a very unpleasant trail run.
oh yeah that happened to my hiking group a few weeks ago. the resident spider was not very pleased. He was pretty neat looking, kind of pinkish red.
also the proportions are way off of an orb weaver on that spider. the colors are similar, I will give you that, but those legs are way too short.
