Comments & ID Thoughts

Good evening. I would like to know what kind of spider this looks like to you.
iPhone says Metaltella simoni, or a member of Steatoda.
Please lend me your knowledge. Thank you!
[The spider was let free outside.]

Location: Bellingham, MA, USA

Found: In a dark, clean, untouched space between a wood panel and a brick wall with lots of insects to eat from. Found in a group of 3 others similar in size.

Additional photos can be requested if needed and if possible

Thank you

For visually impaired: approximately 1.5 inch diameter dark colored arachnid. Dark gray abdomen which resembles an adult dog-tick (after a full meal) in color, size, and shape. Reddish-brown legs and cephalothorax. The head is near-black and contains a white outlined shape similar to a biconvex lens. The spider is quick, taking around 10 paces per second; it walks using all limbs, including pedipalps which are also reddish-brown and around 1/7 the size of the front legs. No other spots, shapes or stripes can be seen as far as I am aware.
