Picture of unidentified spider

Comments & ID Thoughts

This spider was on the screen next to the front door of the house we were renting in Uvita, Costa Rica (South Pacific coast). It was late afternoon when we saw it sitting in an unprotected area. Never saw it move despite checking on it every so often for a couple of hours then it was gone. Was the size of my hand from tip of middle finger to base of palm horizontally. Hoping this wasn’t a Brazilian Wandering Spider- the most venomous in the world. Can’t seem to ID it despite hours online. Can anyone help? Thanks!

PAlmoni

Not a wandering spider—the only species in Central America is P. boliviensis, and it lacks that marking. I would guess brown recluse, except the massive size makes that impossible. Maybe a huntsman?
