Comments & ID Thoughts

What kind of spider is this and is it poisonous? With the leg span it's about the size of a dime and has white markings on it's body. It bit my daughter while in her little pool.

The outline looks like a ground spider in the family Gnaphosidae. Might be an eastern Parson spider, herpyllus ecclesiasticus. None of the ground spiders have medically significant venom. Bites can get infected though.
