Comments & ID Thoughts

I was on my back porch having just gotten up from a nap. My son spotted it in my hair and knocked it away and it landed on the brick as you see here. I’m wondering if it came from my bedroom with me as I’ve noticed a few bites on my legs the past few days. Seeing the red I initially thought black widow, but a closer inspection, and closing in on the photo I took, I realized the whole bottom appeared red. Not the distinct hourglass I thought I would see. Hopefully someone can ID this critter!

This is an antmimic spider, either Redspotted Antmimic (Castianeira descripta) or C. crocata. They are not dangerous.
