Comments & ID Thoughts

I've tried finding information on this thing for a few days now - it's primarily white with what I at first assumed were black spots, but on my most recent excursion beneath its web (sparse but extends several feet in all directions) it appears to have black stripes instead. The big one (bottom right) is easily the size of one of my thumb knuckles.

Before work, the smaller spider appeared and they seemed to be going at it with their forelegs, but now they're just chilling together so I assume they're of the same species or at least not predators of one another. It is, as the photo shows, much smaller and a very different color, though.

From my research, the only spiders its description seems to even remotely match is that of a "Crazy Jumping Spider" or something but as I said, it has quite a web.

He puts down sperm on some silk and uses the hollow-ended pedipalp to scoop some up. The hole for sperm on the female is toward her front end. The male might court her with movements first or… Read more »
