Comments & ID Thoughts
Hi everyone, I'm trying to find out if this spider is Loxosceles rufescens, or if not, what it is. I found a live one in our bathroom, 10 days ago, took a photo and posted it on this site. The image was a bit blurry and it was difficult to make out the Cephalothorax. No one commented. Yesterday I found an identical dead one in the house. Here is a photo of a microscope image of the dead one. Leg span approx 20mm. I'm looking for an expert opinion. I live in Madrid, Spain. Thank you.

It certainly seem so, based on the cephalophorax and eye pattern. Not much else it could be with those 6 eyes, I;d rule out Scytodes and Pholcidae (other common families with 6 eyes).
If you have any concern/fears over these spiders it’s worth searching and reading the various articles availble with information/quotes from Rick Vetter, one of the world’s leading experts on Loxosceles species, their bites, and the misleading, exaggerated media hysteria around them.
