I live in Oregon & this guy is living in one of my mailboxes. He is about the size of a quarter.

Hi, she’s an orbweaver, Araneus diadematus. Spiders live in mailboxes where insects nest in mailboxes. She might prevent a hornet hive from setting up in there. She isn’t particularly dangerous. She’s large because she eats large insects. If you have an autoimmune disorder or a history of bad reactions to stings and bites you should help spiders relocate in the future. In my own experience, nitrile-coated garden gloves reduce wounds, like from insects, splinters, broken glass, and thorns.
