Yep! Argiope aurantia, commonly known in these parts as “black and yellow orb spider” or “black and yellow garden spider”. English translation of the name is: “Silver Faced Gilded Spider”. This one pictured is a female. It is mostly harmless, if you do get bit, it’s equivalent to a bee sting. They are docile and only bite when physically pinned down or trapped. They’re very good for farmers/ranchers because they eat the larger problematic bugs…even grasshoppers and lizards.
