It is in a web right outside my window. Seems to have a lot of energy making his web. Pretty big and fat. Slightly bigger than a us quarter. Fat back and real skinny legs.

Hi, this looks like an orbweaver in the genus Neoscona. It is a mature female, they are bigger than the males plus their abdomens stretch a lot to accommodate plentiful eating and a maturing egg mass. They do use lots of energy growing the eggs and replacing their webs every day to keep the web clean and sticky. They eat the web they remove to recycle the nutrients.
